MEMPHIS SWEET & SOUR PORK
A sweet and sour pork recipe that's easy to make and ready in less than an hour, perfect for weeknights. A classic Asian dish reinvented!
Made with our Memphis sweet and sour BBQ sauce, onion, red and green peppers, pineapple, sesame oil and soy sauce, this recipe is sure to please the whole family. It can be cooked in the Air Fryer or in an oil fryer.
Sriracha can be added if you want to go for a spicy version of this recipe.
700 g pork shoulder, cut into cubes
4 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 white onion, coarsely chopped
1 green bell pepper, coarsely cut
1 red bell pepper, coarsely cut
1/2 pineapple cut into small triangles
2 tbsp. soy sauce
250 ml Memphis sweet & Sour BBQ sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
White rice to accompany
In a large bowl, mix the pork, cornstarch and sesame oil and let stand for 10 minutes.
Cook in an Air Fryer at 390°F for 10 minutes, stir the basket and continue cooking for 10 minutes or until the pork is golden brown and crisp. (The pork can also be fried in oil, the cooking time may vary).
In a large saucepan, sauté onion and peppers with a drizzle of olive oil.
Add the pineapple and soy sauce and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
Then add the crispy pork and Memphis BBQ sauce. Mix well, simmer for about 5 minutes and serve with white rice.
