ONE POT CHICKEN BBQ AND BACON PASTA
A perfect recipe for weeknights that is easy to prepare and appeals to the whole family.
One pot fusilli pasta cooked with chicken enhanced with our BBQ Ribs Chicken sauce, Cajun Mardi Gras spices, diced tomatoes and bacon.
It's sure to become a classic at home!
2 chicken breasts, diced
8 slices of coarsely chopped bacon
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 tbsp.Cajun Mardi Gras spices
1 drizzle of olive oil
2 cups of chicken broth
3 cups uncooked fusilli
796 ml diced tomatoes (remove water from can)
250 mL BBQ sauce Chicken Ribs
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Chives to serve
In a large skillet over medium high heat, add bacon and cook until crisp, add chicken, olive oil, Mardi Gras spices and continue cooking for about 5 minutes or until chicken begins to brown.
Add onion and continue cooking for a few minutes.
Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, pasta, mix well, cover and continue cooking over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring a few times.
Add BBQ sauce, mix well and add grated cheese on top. Place in the oven at broil for 4 to 5 minutes. Serve directly in the pan and sprinkle with chives.
