A creamy mushroom recipe perfect as an accompaniment to all your steaks and BBQ grills.
Prepared with bacon and our namesake hot sauce, onion, garlic, white wine and cream, these button mushrooms will make your steak's side dish steal the show.
You can even add crushed bacon chips as a finishing touch to add even more bacon to the recipe, something no one can say no to!
450 g of button mushrooms
250 g of bacon, finely diced
1 cup of cream
2 to 3 tablespoons of Bacon hot sauce
1 onion, finely chopped
2-3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
50 ml of white wine
Salt and pepper to taste
Chives to serve
Crushed bacon chips (optional)
In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp and remove to paper towels.
In the same pan, deglaze with white wine and add onion, garlic and mushrooms.
Continue cooking over high heat for approx. 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to half and add cream and Bacon hot sauce.
Season with salt and pepper and continue cooking until the sauce has reduced by half.
Return the bacon, stir and continue cooking for a few minutes.
Sprinkle with chives and serve with your choice of steak or BBQ grill.
