Philly Cheesesteak style taquitos perfect for the most important football pre-game of the year, the Super Bowl.
The fondue meat mixture is enhanced with our BBQ Steak sauce and Montreal steak seasonings to add flavor to these taquitos.
All served with a decadent cheese sauce spiked with our Ghost hot sauce.
Ready in less than an hour, they're sure to please your guests for the biggest game of the year. Enjoy your Super Bowl!
225 g of fondue meat
200 g of sliced white mushrooms
1 green bell pepper, diced
½ white onion finely chopped
1 cup of Firebarns Steak BBQ sauce
2 tbsp of Montreal Steak seasonings
8 slices of provolone cheese
12 small wheat tortillas or 6 large
Olive oil for cooking
2 tbsp. of flour
2 tbsp. of butter
2 cups of milk
2 tbsp. of cheese spread
1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. of Mardi Gras cajun seasonings
1 tbsp. of Ghost hot sauce
1 red bell pepper, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large ovenproof skillet, sauté onion, bell bell pepper and mushrooms with a drizzle of olive oil.
Add the fondue meat, mix well and add the Montreal steak seasonings. Continue cooking for a few minutes until the meat starts to brown.
Add the Steak BBQ sauce, mix well and continue cooking over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
Add the provolone cheese slices on top of the meat mixture and place in the oven at broil for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese starts to brown.
Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling on the tortilla (depending on the size) and roll it up tightly on itself.
Place in 425°F oven for about 15 minutes or until tortilla becomes crisp and golden.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the flour, stir well with a whisk for about a minute.
Add the milk and mix well until the mixture starts to boil slightly.
Add the spreadable cheese and grated cheese and continue cooking until the mixture is smooth.
Add the Ghost hot sauce, Mardi Gras Cajun seasonings and red bell pepper. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot with taquitos.
