Taquitos Philly Cheesesteak & Sauce au Fromage Ghost

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK TAQUITOS & GHOST CHEESE SAUCE

Philly Cheesesteak style taquitos perfect for the most important football pregame of the year, the Super Bowl. The fondue meat mixture is enhanced with our BBQ Steak sauce and Montreal steak spices to add flavor to these taquitos. All served with a decadent cheese sauce topped with our Ghost hot sauce. Ready in less than an hour, they will please your guests for the biggest football match of the year. Happy Super Bowl everyone!

Ingredients

  • 225 g of fondue meat
  • 200 g sliced ​​white mushrooms
  • 1 green pepper cut into small cubes
  • ½ finely chopped white onion
  • 1 cup BBQ Steak sauce
  • 2 tbsp. tbsp Montreal steak spice
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • 12 small wheat tortillas or 6 large
  • Olive oil for cooking

CHEESE SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp. tablespoon of flour
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoon of butter
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoon of spreadable cheese
  • 1 ½ cups grated cheddar
  • 2 tbsp. Cajun Mardi Gras spices
  • 1 C. Ghost hot sauce
  • 1 red pepper cut into small cubes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large ovenproof skillet, brown the onion, pepper and mushrooms with a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Add the fondue meat, mix well and add the Montreal steak spices. Continue cooking for a few minutes until the meat begins to brown.
  3. Add the BBQ Steak sauce, mix well and continue cooking over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Add the provolone cheese slices on top of the meat mixture and place in the broiler oven for 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese begins to brown.
  5. Add 2 to 3 tbsp. of the filling on the tortilla (depending on size) and roll it up tightly.
  6. Place in the oven at 425°F for about 15 minutes or until the tortilla becomes crispy and golden brown.

CHEESE SAUCE PREPARATION

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the flour, mix well with a whisk for about a minute.
  2. Add the milk and mix well until the mixture begins to boil slightly.
  3. Add the spreadable cheese and grated cheese and continue cooking until the mixture is homogeneous.
  4. Add Ghost hot sauce, Cajun Mardi Gras spices and red pepper. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot with the taquitos.
