Japanese-Style Marinated Eggs

Our Japanese-style marinated eggs take on a whole new dimension with our Firebarns Ramen Japanese BBQ Sauce and our Sambal Oelek. The result: an explosion of sweet, salty, and spicy flavors that hits hard from the first bite.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • Boiling water for cooking
  • A large bowl of ice water

Marinade

  • 3/4 cup Ramen Japanese BBQ Sauce
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tbsp. Firebarns Sambal Oelek
  • 1 tbsp. of rice vinegar
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. of honey
  • 2 tbsp. of sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Gently place the eggs in the boiling water and cook for about 7 minutes to obtain a runny yolk and a soft-boiled egg texture.
  2. Remove the eggs immediately and plunge them into a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes to stop the cooking.
  3. Gently tap the eggs on the counter, then peel them carefully under a stream of cold water to avoid damaging the whites.
  4. In a bowl, mix the Firebarns Ramen sauce,
Water, Sambal Oelek, rice vinegar, green onions, garlic, honey, and sesame seeds. Stir well to dissolve the honey.
  5. Place the peeled eggs in an airtight container or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the eggs to coat them completely.
  6. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 24 hours. The longer they marinate, the stronger the taste will be.
