Tequila Lime Shrimp Cocktail

A fresh, tangy, and slightly spicy shrimp cocktail thanks to the Firebarns Tequila Lime sauce. Perfect as a shared appetizer or served in verrines by the pool.

Ingredients

• 500g cooked jumbo shrimp, cut into pieces
• 2 celery stalks, finely diced
• 1/2 English cucumber, diced
• 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
• 1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped
• Juice and zest of one orange
• Juice and zest of one lime
• 4 to 5 tbsp. Tequila Lime Hot Sauce
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1/4 cup tomato sauce
• 1/3 cup tomato juice
• Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine the tomato sauce, tomato juice, orange juice, lime juice, garlic and Firebarns Tequila Lime sauce.
  2. Add the orange and lime zests, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in the shrimp, celery, cucumber, red onion, and cilantro.
  4. Mix gently to coat all ingredients evenly.
  5. Refrigerate for about 20 to 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop.
  6. Serve very cold in small glasses with tortilla chips or accompanied by avocado and lime wedges.
