Chicken Caesar Salad Style Fried Tortellini

Ultra-crispy tortellini fried in an Air Fryer, coated in olive oil and BBQ spices, served as a decadent Caesar salad with fried chicken, iceberg lettuce, croutons, green onions, and a spicy Caesar dressing made with Firebarns Original Hot Sauce. Perfect as a sharing dish.

Ingredients

  • 500 g cheese tortellini, cooked and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. BBQ seasonings
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Salad

  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups fried chicken pieces, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup croutons
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated or shaved Parmesan cheese

Firebarns Caesar Dressing

  • 1/2 cup store-bought Caesar dressing
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. Firebarns Original hot sauce, to taste
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • Black pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked and well-drained tortellini with olive oil, BBQ spices, salt, and pepper. Coat the pasta thoroughly.
  3. Place the tortellini in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Let stand for a few minutes to become even crispier.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the Caesar dressing, Firebarns Original hot sauce, lemon juice, honey, and black pepper in a small bowl. Adjust the amount of Firebarns according to your desired level of spice.
  5. On a large serving platter or in a sharing bowl, place the chopped iceberg lettuce. Add the crispy tortellini, Caesar dressing, fried chicken pieces, croutons, green onions, and Parmesan, and mix well.
  6. Serve immediately while the tortellini are still hot and crispy.
