FRIED TORTELLINI WITH SPICY ARRABIATA SAUCE

Discover our Crispy Tortellini, coated with Italian Parmesan breadcrumbs and Cheddar Sun Chips, then fried to perfection. Served with a spicy arrabiata sauce, enhanced by our Firebarns Original Hot Sauce, these tortellini offer the perfect blend of crunch and tangy flavors. Garnished with fresh chives, they are perfect for a gourmet starter or a tasty aperitif.

Ingredients

  • 500g cooked and drained tortellini
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup Italian Parmesan breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup crushed country cheddar sun chips
  • Chives to serve

ARRABIATA SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • A can of crushed tomatoes 796 ml
  • 1 French shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. finely chopped garlic
  • 1 C. tbsp Original Hot Sauce
  • 1 drizzle of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In 3 different bowls, add the flour, eggs and mix the breadcrumbs and crushed chips in the last bowl. Dip the tortellini individually in the flour, egg and breadcrumb mixture.
  2. On a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper, spread the tortellini and place in the oven at 425F for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, brown the garlic and shallot for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the tortellini with chives and serve with the Arriabiata sauce.
