Poulet à l'Oignon Gratiné

Enjoy our Chicken with Onion Gratin, coated with BBQ Chicken Ribs sauce and Cajun Mardi Gras spices. Enhanced with whiskey-caramelized onions and gratinated with provolone and gruyere cheeses, this rich and flavorful dish is served with spicy potatoes and asparagus for a complete and delicious meal.


  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 C. teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 C. teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 C. teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 C. tablespoon of butter
  • 2 onions cut into thin rings
  • 1 oz whiskey
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 3 tbsp. tbsp Texas Chicken Ribs BBQ Sauce
  • 4 slices of provolone
  • 3/4 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Chopped parsley to serve
  • Potatoes and asparagus to accompany (Olive oil + Cajun Mardi Gras spices)


  1. In a bowl, combine flour, chili powder, garlic powder and ground mustard. Coat the breasts with the flour mixture, melt a tablespoon of butter in the pan and brown the chicken breasts until nicely browned on each side. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan over high heat, deglaze with the whiskey, then add the butter and onions and simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Then add the Chicken Ribs BBQ Sauce and the beef broth. Let reduce over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add the chicken breasts to the pan and continue cooking for 5 minutes or until the chicken breasts are cooked through.
  3. Add a slice of provolone and grated Gruyere cheese to the breasts and place in the oven on broil for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is nicely toasted and golden.
  4. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with potatoes and asparagus spiced with Mardi Gras spices.

J’ai reçu mes parents avec cette recette ce soir et tout le monde a terminé son assiette. C’était succulent. Le provolone est un excellent choix de bon fromage épais et onctueux. Le poulet était tendre et le goût Firebarns ajouté à cette recette en fera certainement une de mes préférées. À refaire absolument!
