MEMPHIS SWEET & SOUR PORK

A sweet and sour pork recipe that's easy to make and ready in less than an hour, perfect for weeknights. A classic of Asian cuisine reinvented! Prepared with our Memphis sweet and sour BBQ sauce, onion, red and green peppers, pineapple, sesame oil and soy sauce, this recipe will please the whole family. Cooking can be done in the Air Fryer or in an oil fryer. You can add Sriracha if you want to go for a more spicy version of this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 700 g pork shoulder cut into cubes
  • 4 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 white onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 green pepper, roughly chopped
  • 1 red pepper, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 pineapple cut into small triangles
  • 2 tbsp. tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 250 ml ofMemphis sweet and sour BBQ sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • White rice to accompany

Preparation

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix the pork, cornstarch and sesame oil well and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook in the air fryer at 390°F for 10 minutes, shake the basket and continue cooking for 10 minutes or until the pork is nicely browned and crispy. (Pork can also be fried in oil; cooking time may vary.)
  3. In a large saucepan, brown the onion and peppers with a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Add the pineapple and soy sauce and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
  5. Then add the crispy pork and Memphis sauce. Mix well, simmer for about 5 minutes and serve with white rice.
