ONE POT CHICKEN BBQ AND BACON PASTA

A perfect weeknight recipe that is easy to prepare and will please the whole family. Fusilli pasta in a one-pot formula cooked with chicken enhanced with our BBQ Chicken Ribs sauce, our Cajun Mardi Gras spices, diced tomatoes and bacon. It will undoubtedly become a classic in your home!

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts cut into small cubes
  • 8 slices of bacon, roughly chopped
  • 1 finely chopped red onion
  • 3 tbsp. Cajun Mardi Gras spices
  • 1 drizzle of olive oil
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 3 cups uncooked fusilli
  • 796 ml diced tomatoes (remove water from can)
  • 250 ml Texas Chicken Ribs BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Chives to serve

Preparation

  1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the bacon and cook until it begins to crisp, add the chicken, olive oil, Mardi Gras spices and continue cooking for about 5 minutes or until until the chicken starts to brown.
  2. Then add the onion and continue cooking for a few minutes.
  3. Add the chicken broth, diced tomatoes and pasta, mix well, cover and continue cooking over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring a few times.
  4. Add the BBQ sauce, mix well and add the grated cheese on top. Place in the broiler oven for 4 to 5 minutes. Serve directly in the pan and sprinkle with chives.
