Fritos Chili

Fritos Firebarns Chili, a spicy and crunchy experience. A smoky chili with Tex-Mex El Paso seasonings and Ghost hot sauce, served in a Fritos bag with cheddar, sour cream and green onions. Irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 5 tbsp. El Paso Tex-Mex seasonings
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 4 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 7-8 drops Ghost Hot Sauce
  • 2 x 540 ml red beans
  • 796 ml diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 796 ml tomato sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Topping

  • Small bags of Fritos chips
  • Grated cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Green onions

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, sauté the onion and ground beef with a little olive oil for a few minutes or until the beef is browned.
  2. Add the El Paso Tex-Mex seasonings, tomato paste and garlic, mix well and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add diced tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, beef broth and Ghost hot sauce. Salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
  5. Serve chili over an open bag of Fritos, add shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and green onions.
