Firebarns Bacon & Beer Cheese Fondue

Take on winter with an ultra-creamy fondue, boosted with our fiery Firebarns Bacon Sauce. A bold blend of melty cheese, comforting beer and a spicy kick that warms the heart… and the taste buds!

Ingredients

  • 1 French shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 250 ml of lager
  • 500 g of Gruyere cheese
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Bacon Hot Sauce
  • 1 baguette, cut into cubes
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch (in 1/3 cup water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve with fine cured meats

Preparation

  1. In a fondue pot, brown the shallots with the butter over medium heat for about 1 to 2 minutes. Then add the Dijon mustard, Firebarns Bacon and beer. Mix well and bring to a boil and reduce the heat.
  2. Gradually add the cheese and mix well, add the cornstarch, salt and pepper and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
