Doritos Monterey Jack Cheese Sticks & Tequila Lime Salsa

Our Doritos-dipped Monterey Jack cheese sticks, topped with El Paso Tex-Mex seasonings, and served with a homemade Tequila Lime salsa, are the perfect appetizer to ignite your party or pre-game with friends. Crispy, melty, and a little refreshing… get ready for a hit!

Ingredients

  • 250 g Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • A small bag of crushed Doritos (your choice)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Tequila Lime Salsa

  • 4 Roma tomatoes
  • 3 jalapeno peppers
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • The juice of a lime
  • 1 bunch of coriander, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. El Paso Tex-Mex Seasonings
  • 2 tbsp. Tequila Lime Hot Sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, roast the tomatoes and jalapenos for about 10 minutes, until they begin to blacken on each side.
  2. Let the tomatoes cool and coarsely grind in a blender.
  3. Remove the seeds from the jalapenos and cut into small cubes.
  4. Mix all the salsa ingredients and place in the fridge.
  5. Cut the cheese into sticks of about 1 cm.
  6. Place flour, beaten eggs and Doritos mixed with breadcrumbs in 3 separate bowls.
  7. Place cheese in flour, then egg followed by breadcrumb mixture until all sides of cheese are coated. (repeat egg/breadcrumbs 2 times)
  8. Place in Air Fryer at 400°F for about 7 minutes.
  9. Serve the sticks with salsa and Doritos chips of your choice.
