BANG BANG SHRIMP FIREBARNS

Discover our Bang Bang Firebarns Shrimp, a crispy and spicy delight. Coated in Panko breadcrumbs and fried to perfection, the jumbo shrimp are served with a homemade Bang Bang sauce made with mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha Firebarns and honey. Garnished with coriander, they offer an explosion of flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 500g Jumbo shrimp
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1 C. teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ Japanese Panko breadcrumbs
  • Cilantro to serve

BANG BANG SAUCE

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1/3 cup Firebarns Sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp. teaspoon of honey

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and chili powder. Add the shrimp to the mixture, cover and let sit in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  2. Using tongs, remove the shrimp, add the egg, flour and cornstarch to the mixture and whisk until combined.
  3. Individually, dip the shrimp in the buttermilk mixture and then dip in the Panko breadcrumbs
  4. In oil at 375F. cook the shrimp for about 2 to 3 minutes, sprinkle with coriander and serve with the Bang Bang sauce.
