EL PASO CHEESE DIP

An El Paso cheese dip recipe perfect for football or hockey tailgates that is simple to make and delicious. A blend of Tex-Mex cheese, Velveeta, ground beef, crumbled bacon and salsa enhanced wonderfully with our El Paso spices and Cayenne hot sauce. Your guests will love this recipe and you can either reveal your big secret to them or keep it to yourself!

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 C. tablespoon of butter
  • 2 tbsp. tbsp El Paso Tex-Mex spice
  • 450 g Velveeta cheese
  • 325 g grated Tex-Mex cheese
  • 250 g cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 to 3 tbsp. Cayenne Hot Sauce
  • 418 ml salsa
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Preparation

  1. Brown over medium-high heat in butter.
  2. When the meat is cooked, add the El Paso Tex-Mex spices and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add salsa and Velveeta and Tex-Mex cheeses.
  4. Leave to simmer, stirring regularly, until the cheese is melted.
  5. Add the Cayenne hot sauce and crumbled bacon.
  6. Mix well and serve.
