Turkey, Bacon, Gouda & Honey Mustard Grilled Cheese on the Plancha

A decadent turkey grilled cheese, crispy bacon, and melted gouda, grilled on the plancha between two slices of French toast. Pickles and Firebarns Honey Mustard BBQ Sauce add the perfect sweet, smoky, and spicy kick.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of country bread or thick brioche bread
  • 8 slices of gouda cheese
  • 150g sliced turkey breast
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 2 large dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp Firebarns Honey Mustard BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tbsp softened butter

Preparation

  1. Place the bacon slices directly on the griddle and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, turning regularly, until crispy. Set aside.
  2. Place the turkey breast slices on the griddle for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Butter the outside of the bread slices.
  4. On two slices of bread, place 2 slices of gouda, 2 tbsp of Firebarns Honey Mustard sauce, half of the turkey breast, 3 slices of crispy bacon, a few pickle slices, and 2 more slices of gouda.
  5. Close with the other slices of bread, buttered side out.
  6. Place the sandwiches on the griddle over medium heat.
  7. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula.
  8. The bread should be golden and crispy and the cheese completely melted.
  9. Cut each grilled cheese in half and serve immediately.
