ASIAN-STYLE SLOPPY JOE
Rediscover our childhood classic, Sloppy Joe, prepared with our Tomato Ketchup and spiced up with our Sriracha sauce and Hoisin sauce.
Served on a brioche bun with an Asian-inspired cucumber salad prepared with fresh ginger, rice vinegar, soy sauce, chili flakes, oil and sesame seeds, you'll go back to childhood on a journey of flavors.
2 English cucumbers, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger
3 tbsp. rice vinegar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp. chili flakes
3 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
1 tsp sesame oil
4 brioche hamburger buns
1 ½ lbs ground beef
150 ml Tomato Ketchup
200 ml Hoisin sauce
3 tbsp. Sriracha sauce
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 green onions, finely chopped
125 ml water
Green onions to serve
In a bowl, combine all ingredients and set aside in the fridge.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with a drizzle of olive oil until cooked through and browned on both sides.
Add the green onion and garlic. Mix well and continue cooking for a few minutes.
Add the Tomato Ketchup, Hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce.
Stir well, reduce heat to medium and continue cooking for about 20-25 minutes, or until sauce has reduced by about half.
Serve the cucumber salad and Sloppy Joe in a toasted brioche bun.
