BEER CHEESE FONDUE WITH BACON FIREBARNS

Ingredients:
  • 1 French shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 250ml lager
  • 500g Gruyere cheese
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp of Firebarns bacon
  • 1 baguette, diced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (in 1/3 cup of water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve with deli meats

Preparation:

In a fondue pot, sauté the shallots with the butter over medium heat for about 1 to 2 minutes. Then add the Dijon mustard, Firebarns Bacon and beer. Mix well and bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
Gradually add the cheese and mix well, add the cornstarch, salt and pepper and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
