Smash Burgers are always a winner at parties with family and friends.

This American classic was invented in Kentucky when a local restaurant employee smashed a hamburger with a can. They then discovered that this product made their burgers taste better.

So here is our version of this now popular BBQ classic enhanced with our steak spices and our Tomato Ketchup and Baseball Mustard as a finale.

Ingrédients

2 brioche hamburger buns
600 g ground beef
4 slices of pepperoni
8 slices of orange cheese
4 tranches de cornichons
5-6 sliced pickled hot peppers (optional)
2 tbsp. Firebarns Montreal Steak seasoning
Firebarns Tomato Ketchup to taste
Firebarns Baseball Mustard to taste

Préparation

Sprinkle ground beef with Firebarns Montreal Steak seasoning, separate into 4 equal parts and shape into 4 compact balls.
In a skillet, grill pepperoni slices on each side until crisp. Remove and set aside.
In a large cast iron skillet that is very hot on the stove, BBQ or directly over a campfire in camping mode, place the meat balls, add parchment paper to the top of the balls and flatten as much as possible with a press or a small cast iron skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side and add 2 slices of cheese to each meatball. Remove from heat and let cheese melt on top of meatballs.
Toast the buns, spread mustard on the bottom, add pickles, a meatball, a slice of pepperoni, another meatball, another slice of pepperoni, more pickles and pickled hot peppers. Spread with ketchup and enjoy!

Le petit croustillant du pepperoni, tout comme son goût, ajoute un petit je-ne-sais-quoi qui apporte ce smash burger à un autre niveau. Un vrai délice pour mon premier BBQ de l’année. À essayer, ça fait différent des burgers habituels!
